The Florida Women's Consortium is a nonpartisan advocacy group of organizations and individuals committed to achieving full equality and empowerment for women.
Its primary goals are to provide a communiations network and coordinate activities of member groups. In addition to promoting legislation to achieve these goals, the Consortium encourages the efforts of women to move into policymaking positions in government, the private sector, and the community.
Each year, the Consortium coordinates an Annual Meeting in Tallahassee during the Florida legislative session. These days spent together include seminars on issues, briefing sessions, trips to the Capitol and social gatherings.
This opportunity to meet with women from all over the state to exchange ideas and strategies is one of the highlights of the year for those active in the women's movement.
